One of the main goals of this program is to also help students see the opportunities available in our area, and encourage them to stay and invest, thus providing a return ti the tax payers that funded their educational opportunities

Having well qualified employees, and consumers that can afford your products or services also benefits you, but beyond that, keeping the residents who have grown up in the area here, as they age, and have families of their own. means they are invested in the wellbeing of their communities much more deeply than transient residents

How Did We Get Here?

Curtiss Cline, an Economics teacher, and the creator of Prepare & Connect, was once given a tour of a local industrial production business that employed over 500 individuals in its facility. What he had expected to see was assembly workers and material handlers, but instead saw employees who needed a diverse skill set of machinery maintenance and operation, legal procedures, chemistry, accounting, advanced math, written and verbal communication, data entry and analysis, coding and basic programming, and even Economics.

This got his creative juices flowing, and he made many changes in his curricullum as a result of this visit to focus more concisely on the varied skill set he saw today's modern employee needed. But, it also occurred to him, how many other teachers in various departments could benefit from an experience like he had? While he was able to make changes in his classroom that will reach thousands of students based on his experience, imagine the creative juices of hundreds of teachers reaching hundreds of thousands of students based on exposure to knowledge like this?

That is the goal of this program.
